Team Up Against Hunger With SSCAC

If you love to run, we’d love to give you a RUN FOR YOUR MONEY! SSCAC works to feed over 6,000 children, elders, and families in our communities each month. We need your help!
We've assembled a team to run/walk in the 7th Annual Running of the Pilgrims 5K Race and raise funds for our Food Resources Program. Join Team SSCAC or create your own team and start collecting donations today!

Invite your friends, family, and co-workers to join your team and make a donation

About SSCAC's Food Resources Program

Affordable food and nutrition are a top need for low-income people in our communities.

  • 40% of low-income people report they're worse off now compared to before the pandemic
  • 45% of low-income seniors cut back on food or medicine to pay other bills
  • 1 in 4 low-income adults has run out of food and cannot afford to buy more
  • 11% have lost weight because they cannot afford to buy enough food

In 2023, we fought food insecurity and promoted nutrition in our communities by collecting and distributing 401,625 pounds of fresh and non-perishable food - the equivalent of 334,688 meals! Together with hundreds of community partners, we fed 6,100 people of all ages each month throughout the year and the need for food assistance is increasing. We partner with schools, early education centers, and Councils on Aging to target food distribution for the elderly and children who are at greater risk of negative health, mental health, academic, and developmental outcomes due to hunger.

Teamwork makes the dream work!

THANK YOU!
