Using a strengths-based approach to family education and early family literacy, the South Shore Family Network sponsors free interactive story-times and Raising a Reader playgroups at libraries throughout the South Shore and online.

Our SSFN offers 6-week parent-child playgroups focused on hands-on STEM learning activities for parents and children up to 4 years old. These playgroups are offered free of charge at local libraries throughout the South Shore.

South Shore Family Network aims to support parents in the most challenging, and rewarding, job they’ll ever have – that of being a parent. The South Shore Family Network sponsors free in-person and online Parenting Workshops that engage and support parents in understanding and promoting their children’s development, school readiness, and early literacy.
The SSFN Advisory Council supports our work to promote children’s early learning, health and emotional well being, and overall development.
The Advisory Council includes parents, child care providers, teachers, librarians, social service agencies, health care providers, Early Intervention specialists, and others.
The Council provides leadership opportunities for parents and those interested in advocating for the educational needs of their children throughout the entire educational system.
