(GAME 1) With cans of fruit, pasta, and hearty stews worth extra points during the Final Four, the Plymouth Elks out of Region 3 knew they would have to press to beat the Region 4, Silver Lake National Honor Society squad. It was a tough match-up with multiple scoring changes throughout the week, but the Plymouth Elks defeated Silver Lake National Honor Society by a below-average student SAT score - 1,100 to 878 to advance to the Title Game out of Region 3.
(GAME 2) In the Featured Match-Up, we had two big money teams square off. Rockland Trust out of Region 1 against North Easton Savings Bank out of Region 2. Rockland Trust went deep last year so there were many who had them advancing to the Title Game on their brackets, but low and behold, the Cinderella Story goes on for tournament rookie, North Easton Savings Bank who shocked the world with a 3,584 to 2,437 victory.
REGION 1
(GAME 1) IDEX Health & Science squeaked out a win in Round 1. Would they wake up and give Rockland Trust a run for their money? Nope. IDEX put in some banker’s hours and lost by over 1,400 points. Over 1,400 points? Are you cereal? Why yes, we are. Cereal items were worth extra points this week. Rockland Trust took that twist to the bank and threw up 1,501 points. Better luck next year IDEX, we love you.
REGION 2
(GAME 2) In the marque match-up of the week North Easton Savings Bank was pitted against South Coast Improvement Company. Two run and gun offenses everyone was looking to see go at it head-to-head. They did not disappoint. North Easton Savings Bank emerged victorious scoring 2,032 points. South Coast Improvement has no reason to hang their heads. They put up 1,621 points, which is something to build on for a deep tournament run next year.
REGION 3
(GAME 3) The Plymouth Elks don’t even have a lodge, but they feel right at home taking down the competition in their inaugural tournament run. Cape Cod 5 did all they could but fell to the stronger Elks team 613 to 99.
REGION 4
(GAME 4) The Boys and Girls Club of Plymouth has a beautiful basketball court at their Plymouth Industrial Park location. Apparently, they forgot to put it to good use because the Silver Lake National Honor Society passed this test with flying colors, The nerds win 457 to 50.
REGION 1
(GAME 1) Out of Region 1 we had a featured matchup, Irene’s Hair Gallery vs. IDEX Health & Science. Both went deep in last year’s inaugural challenge, but the sharp money was on Irene’s. In a shocker, IDEX Health and Science was able to advance to the Elite 8 by defeating Irene’s Hair Gallery by a slim margin of 57 points.
(GAME 2) Rockland Trust and Flexo Concepts locked horns in the second match up of the day. Both teams were returning to the madness, but Rockland Trust had a deeper bench and cruised to a first round victory, 727 to 246 points.
REGION 2
(GAME 3) Defending Champion, Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department had trouble getting started. Maybe they were still hungover, recovering from last years celebration and heavy press schedule, but they were steamrolled by first time tournament participants, North Easton Savings Bank losing by over a thousand points.
(GAME 4) Mayflower Brewing Company underwent a recent restructure and joined forces with Zen Leaf to create Mayflower Zen, a team that looked great on (rolling) paper, but they were bounced by another tournament rookie, South Coast Improvement Company in a lopsided victory.
REGION 3
(GAME 5) In a tightly contested match up, Plymouth Elks edged out the Plymouth North High School Honor Society. It was a lot closer than the final scoreboard indicated as the Elks pulled away in the waning minutes, 500 to 337 points.
(GAME 6) Cape Cod 5 was bounced in Round 1 during last years competition and they vowed not to have history repeat itself by taking down the historic Town of Plymouth.
REGION 4
(GAME 7) Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth defeated RE/MAX Real Estate Center of Plymouth by 53 points. Just like when a house is up for sale, they sent RE/MAX packing in an early exit of 2025 March Mania Food Drive Challenge.
(GAME 8) The Plymouth Lions Club bested their numbers from the previous year but fell a little short to Silver Lake’s National Honor Society. Sometime it’s the luck of the draw and sometimes your bracket is just busted and you are a two time first round loser.
Each team will collect non-perishable food donations from customers, employees, colleagues, friends, family, and neighbors. If your team collects more food donations than your opponent, you’ll advance and compete against another team the following week.
Will your team be a 1-and-done or a Cinderella story?
After 4 rounds of intense, single-elimination competition, we’ll announce the March Mania Food Drive Tournament Champion!
Plymouth County Sheriff’s Law and Order: Hunger Critical Intervention Team emerged victorious in our 1st Annual March Mania Food Drive Tournament, collecting a remarkable 3,298 non-perishable food items in the final match-up and over 3,000 pounds of food throughout the tournament. In total, the 2024 March Mania Food Drive Tournament collected over 16,000 pounds of food, the equivalent of 11,670 meals.
