Local Heroes Awards Night & Auction proceeds support our ongoing efforts to fight hunger, increase food security, and promote equitable food access  throughout the South Shore, with a strategic focus on children and the elderly who are at higher risk of negative health, mental health, academic, and developmental outcomes due to hunger.

South Shore Community Action Council’s 29th Annual Local Heroes Awards Night will be held on June 20, 2024 at the Plimoth Patuxet Museum’s Peabody Pavilion.


The event will include an online auction to raise funds for our Food Resources Program which helps feed over 6,000 food insecure children, elderly, and families each month!


Auction items could include:


  • Tickets to a sporting or entertainment event
  • Excursions/unique experiences
  • Memorabilia or artwork
  • Hotel/spa getaway
  • Themed gift baskets
  • Professional services


You do not have to attend to participate in the online auction. #TeamUpAgainstHunger
