South Shore Early Education, a South Shore Community Action Council program - a private non-profit providing multi-level program support on the South Shore, Wareham, Cape Cod, and the Islands, seeks a Cook III, 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, all company benefits apply.
Responsible for assisting the Cook Manager in ordering, preparing, distributing, and serving meals (in accordance with ACF/USDA/EEC guidelines), including preparing meals for children with modified diets i.e.: allergies. Assist with inventory tracking. Meal assistance and other various duties as assigned. Ability to assist at other sites based on operational needs. Candidate must be very dependable and able to work under pressure.
Knowledge of USDA food programs is preferred. Knowledge and awareness of inventory, stocking, and ordering protocols for a medium-sized facility are required.
BA/BS in Culinary arts preferred; AA/AS accepted; previous large meal service required; inventory; ability to work with varying groups of children and adults; experience in a USDA program—expertise and compassion in collaborating with educators, children, and families of diverse and multilingual backgrounds.
Minimum Requirements at employment:
