Immediate Opening -
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program Coordinator

SSCAC seeks a temporary, part time Coordinator for our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Our VITA program provides free electronic preparation and filing of state and federal income tax returns for approximately 700 low income tax payers each year.

Core Responsibilities:
Using Google calendar, the Coordinator will set up the VITA program’s appointment schedule, take phone calls and schedule appointments, and make reminder phone calls to clients. All appointments are made by phone. The Coordinator will coordinate and support a team of 9 IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers, including arranging volunteer orientation training, sharing tax updates and alerts during the tax season, ensuring tax preparation work stations are stocked with supplies, collecting and securely storing volunteer and client paperwork, and arranging substitutes. The Coordinator will enter data in SSCAC’s central database and assist the VITA program supervisor with preparing monthly program updates for the CEO.

Core Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
• A minimum of 2 years of program coordination experience
• Experience in all MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with Google calendar and online software applications
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be at least 18 yrs. of age
• Must have a Driver’s license in good standing
