Grants and Contract Services Finance Manager

South Shore Community Action Council - a private non-profit working to end poverty on the South Shore - seeks a full-time Grants and Contract Services Finance Manager.

Core Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively as a team member in preparation of budgets, grant applications, billing and expenditure reports.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of grant expenditure, revenue and balance sheet accounts and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Prepare general ledger journal entries.
• Analyze financial and performance data, evaluate internal processes, and make recommendations to management for improvement.
• Conduct monthly review of Dept. Early Education and Care (EEC) childcare and childcare transportation billing for multiple sites.
• Oversee data entry of weekly childcare parent fee billing, preparation of termination/collection letters, and communication with parents.
• Supervise data entry of revenue and cash receipts from grant- and contract services.
• Monitor and assist in collection of delinquent Accounts Receivable from funders.

Core Qualifications:
• Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required, CPA a plus
• Minimum of 4 years of non-profit accounting or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing grants a plus
• Knowledge of GAAP, general internal controls and Uniform Guidance preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide a high level of customer service and develop collaborative working relationships across departments.
• Skill in researching, analyzing and evaluating complex financial data.
• Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements, communicate recommendations to management, and assist with implementation.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Word. Experience with Sage MIP Fund Accounting a plus.
• Time management, adherence to deadlines, follow-through and organizational skills.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply, hold a valid driver license in good standing, and pass a CORI background record check.
