Head Start & Child Care Director

Job Summary: Directs and oversees all aspects of the Early and Preschool Head Start, and Early Education Child Care programs with sites in Plymouth and Marshfield including overall education, social services, health services, food program, transportation system, grant management and staff training. Responsibilities include approximately 400 child care slots and liaison with families, Boards and various community representatives; member of the senior management team reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. 

Job Duties: Responsible for managerial supervision and oversight at all sites including overseeing the general maintenance of facilities. Responsible for budgetary planning, grant writing & submissions and monthly reporting including long and short term planning goals. Works as liaison with the Policy Council and the Board of Directors. Ensures timely completion of projects within established quality standards, and provides reports to regulating agencies and the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications, Experience and Education: Minimum of BA/BS in Early childhood or related field. Eight+ years child care experience in a supervisory role; preferably has obtained a level D2. Strong experience in Not for Profit with demonstrated senior management level experience. Requires extensive background and reference check.

Competencies: Leadership and decision-making skills; oral and written communication skills; ability to develop and mentor others; computer skills; ability to build collaborative relationships; ability to identify and seek needed information/referrals; compliance officer skills. Prior experience with NAEYC accreditation preferred.
