Feeding More By Wasting Less
The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates that over one quarter of all
food produced are wasted. This would equal 96 billion pounds of food. If only
5 percent of the 96 billion pounds were recovered, that quantity would feed
4 million people each day for a year.

wholesome food donated from commercial sources to meet the nutritional
needs of the food-insecure on the South Shore.
